Hi all, generic question here about shipping insurance. My average order value is about $250, I ship most everything in the US by Priority Mail that includes $100 in coverage. I just had an incident where I had a $400 order lost – something that just has never happened before to me. I sent the customer a replacement and filed my claim for $100 from USPS. When I shipped it out, I added $300 of insurance at about $2 to it.
Have NOT been putting insurance on any of my packages because I just have never had an issue. I send about 1500 or 1600 packages a year. Am I an idiot for not adding insurance? On this order I sure feel like one, but I would love to get other's take on what they do.
