This idea has been rattling in my brain for a while so I finally did something with it. Headless Shopify stores have 3 main advantages:
- You pay less. Either go on the Shopify lite plan and pay 9.99 instead of the 29.99 or you can just have the 29.99 plan and have additional stores for nothing.
- You can rapidly test out sub niches in your niche. Say you have a pets store, you can make a quick mini store with a Dogs theme and test it out. Then with cats. Rinse and repeat. It might even increase your conversion as customers might resonate with a specialized store.
- The website looks cleaner, better and is overall faster since its developed on a more modern tech stack.
So I made one on my own store: https://doggyckers.netlify.app/
It's a Dog Stickers niche. Kinda dumb but it came out nice I think. I'm going to explore this approach personally but wanted to run this by people here to get feedback and if anyone would be interested in this? The 'meta' plan is to offer this as a service.
Here's how it would work. You just make a new collection in your store (can be hidden from your main store) and give me the name of that collection and the copy/branding (colors)/logo for your store and, voila, I create the store. Lets assume this is based on a template like the example store I shared to keep the product costs down and for me to do this fairly quickly for you. I run the store on Netlify as a static site so in addition to being super fast the website is very cheap to host so there are no significant costs for this.
What do you think?
