Pivoting my eCommerce company into a content company

I am writing this post to seek out your opinion and wisdom. I have a 5-year-old eCommerce company that broke 7 figures in rev last year and is continuing to grow, but is not very profitable. I'm thinking about using our biggest asset, our email list, to create a newsletter and thus pivot from eCommerce to content marketing. I'm not sure if this has been done before.

About our company

  • Sell air and water filters to homeowners
  • Have ~25,000 subscribers, most of whom are in Canada
  • I believe our demographic is older, have money, kids and might be considering retirement

Do you have any input about how to make this blurry vision become a bit clearer?
