Advertisements or Social Media growth in the beginning?

Hi all,

I’m curious about what the best path to take in the early days of an online store is. Is it best to pump out targeted ads relevant to your niche or should you not worry about advertising in the beginning? Instead focusing on social media growth and then advertising?
