New dropshipper, how can you learn the basics without a product or niche?

Hi all, im new to this and don't have a product I want to sell yet, I'm still researching, it may take a while.

What can I do to learn the basics while I'm researching because at the moment i can't make a shopify, test ads or do any of the real work. But at the same time I don't want to find a product then not have a clue how to launch it.

Do people do dummy runs, like make a fake shopify with the free trial just to practise building a store etc.

Im watching YouTube, podcasts and reddit

Or do I just jump in with a product to trial and learn it all as I go.
