About Oberlo

I've been researching for a few days and haven't been able to find a concise answer. (maybe the questions too dumb? haha) Basically, is Oberlo a supplier for aliexpress products? I know that import products to Shopify, but are they a supplier? It's just many I videos watch describe the importance of a supplier, and many just use Oberlo. Would appreciate any help.
