Over and over I hear how important it is to turn customers and social media followers into email subscribers. The logic and statistics backing those assertions make sense to me.
For my business, the primary way people end up on the mailing list is by adding their email address in at checkout when they purchase. That's great to allow me to re-market to existing customers, but it does nothing to acquire new customers.
My questions are:
- What has worked for you to get more people on your email list?
- What have you done to keep people from unsubscribing or marking your emails as junk?
- Have you had success getting existing subscribers to recruit more from their own social circles? If so, how did you do that?
- What have been your "don't do this!" lessons from your own experiences?
Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!
