For my apparel biz, I run fb ads on Instagram placement only.
Recently I learned that I can create an ad from an existing IG post that includes product tags.
If I do this, the "shop now" bar doesn't show up, and there is no link to my website. Instead, the post has a product tag as if it were an organic post – if you click on it you view it in IG shopping.
Has anyone done much testing of IG ads with product tags? Do they perform any differently than ads with the traditional CTA w/ link?
I would love to use the existing post as an ad, as it has some good engagement on it. I'm juggling whether or not to remove the product tags in lieu of a link or to leave it as tags. Any input is appreciated!
