Hello, was wondering how exactly sales tax works for e comm. I currently run a small online business in the state of Texas. I hold my own inventory in my garage and ship orders from my house. I notice on Shopify that “collect” sales tax is checked for every state, but it only collects taxes for my state. Is it correct that I only need to collect sales tax for the state in which the order is being shipped to?
When it goes to paying the amount owed on the sales tax, is that done yearly at the time the rest of my taxes are done?
