New business on Shopify, we don't do any dropshipping (never have). Our website was hit with a Google ban since pretty much day 1.
We've spent ~6 months trying to get it fixed, including consulting specialists (on fiverr), who really dug deep and suggested really comprehensive changes.
We've removed all shopify-native reviews, added TrustPilot, set up a business on Google Maps (which received a review already, Google even sent us a physical MAIL congratulating us with an offer to match our ad spend up to $150), added PayPal, all to "increase our trust factor".
We've done the website verification CNAME thing with Google, Microsoft, and Facebook through our host, Cloudflare.
We've separately got other specialists to optimize our website speed and improve layout – jumped from ~17 to ~90++ on google lighthouse, both desktop and mobile.
On Shopify it just says:
Account suspended due to policy violation:
Misrepresentation of self or product (Untrustworthy promotions)
We've literally removed ALL promotions/sales/price comparisons except free shipping over $500. Every product's stock level is tracked by Shopify, and has a label on the thumbnail showing availability.
In our most recent review request e-mail, they elaborated:
Google’s primary objective is to provide safe, relevant experiences for our users. The decision to suspend your account was made after careful review of your account and the low quality landing page experiences promoted through your website. We won't be able to provide you with any further details regarding the suspension of the account.
Quite done with it at this point, hundreds of dollars in consultation getting nowhere. Our website. Would anyone here who have gone through this be able to help us?
Alternatively, is this something that can be ignored, and money better spent on Ads? Not feeling great about giving Google any money at this point, tbh.
