Where to get started, and, is there a wiki somewhere here?

I was curious if there was a wiki somewhere on how/where to get started, curated resources by the community from the experiences.

I was considering buying a domain name through Shopify and using their site(do they allow for a lot of customization), and I have searched, however I think the expertise is what I was looking for here.
