So apparently Kansas passed a law in fall 2019 that all online retailers making any amount in sales have to file sales tax in Kansas.
I’m unclear on whether that went into effect for 2020 tax year?
Not looking for expert tax advice so don’t need to be reminded to seek expert help, just curious if someone can give me a quick rundown because the articles I’ve read are more about the immediate aftermath of the legislation passing, not so much the nuts and bolts. The Kansas tax page is not exactly light reading either.
TLDR; ELI5 what’s up with Kansas online sales tax requirements?
