I'm sorry this is a stupid question, but it seems incorrect that I wouldn't need to collect sales tax? I'm a photographer and I sell prints of my photos through my website. When someone buys a photo on my online store, I order the print from a photo lab, sign it, then ship it to the customer. I've made about $300 this year selling prints online, I'm expecting to make $600 this year selling prints, at most.
Since I don't have a storefront, employees, inventory, and am far below California's $500,000 (or 200 transactions) threshold, does that mean I don't have sales tax nexus and don't collect sales tax…?
Thanks for any help, I really appreciate it.
