Requesting tips on getting ecommerce site started when it not typical “cookie cutter” site

Hello all, I've been sitting on an e-commerce/marketplace idea because it's not a typical one and the technical aspects to get it going are way over my skill level and would cost more in advertising prelaunch because of the nature of it than I have the budget for.

I know ideas are a dime a dozen, but I'm not sure how to move forward. I have some marketing and design experience but not on the scale I'd need for this, nor do I have what I think the initial budget would be for marketing. There are no WordPress plugins, Shopify apps, or custom themes online that can do what I need either to assist me (the extent of my web design experience is using those products).

I'm pretty confident it would take a dev team to make happen and I'm also confident it would be very profitable if done right.

Has anyone gone through something like this where your site is a lot more complex than your standard shopify or equivalent type store and what did you do to get it going?

Thank you for your time!
