Catalog Management

What do you use for complex catalog management besides a PIM? We currently have > 100 spreadsheets and growing. We’ve looked into PIMs but they are less helpful than our excel sheets because of all the formulas we can use in excel. In excel we can easily create different names and duplicate attributes, etc. However, then you have products in more than 100 places which is less than ideal. Does anyone have suggestions or recommendations?
