Trying to Understand – is MAP good for us smaller ecommerce retailers?

(Sorry in advance) I'm trying to make everything make sense to me.

Hey Guys,

Trying to understand MAP a bit better.

If we're a smaller retailer, we have to calculate in shipping into wholesale price. This leaves us with a slim margin, on top of the low MAP price.

Should we just skip these suppliers?

– Since I suppose big box retailers that carry these items will likely be selling AT MAP price. This leaves us with a fairly bad margin.

– And we cannot beat their shipping prices at current volume, since they have cheaper rates with UPS/FedEx, etc.

Is it even worth testing these products with say: 15% margins/ $30-$60/Margin?
