How to profitably set up a brand new ad account

Starting out with a completely new ad account is tough…

No pixel data, no previous ad history to base your creatives or copy off of, just a blank canvas to do the best you can…

So here’s exactly what to do if you’re managing an ad account from scratch… 👇

1. Who, Who, Who 🦉

Knowing who you’re gonna be advertising to is the first step everyone must take (new ad account or not) if they want to generate outstanding results…

So what you wanna do here is figure out who are the type of people that would be interested in what you sell!

And to do that you can go on reddit, quora, watch videos and anything else that will give you more insight into your audience…

The most important thing to figure out is “WHO’S USING THIS PRODUCT?”

One thing to remind yourself though is that there doesn’t have to be just one audience – your product could be advertised completely differently to completely different people who need the same product…

So don’t limit yourself to just one type of person (i.e (i.e buyer persona) since there can be more than one…

2. Some Competition is Always Beneficial 🥇🥈🥉

Once you know who could be using your product it’s time to look for some of your competitors…

This step is pretty simple…

You can just type your product on Google if you don’t know who your competitors could be and a bunch will come up.

Once you have a couple of competitors you wanna go to their ads library, look at their ads and save the best ones (this will help you brainstorm once it’s time to create your ads)…

3. Time to Create Your Ads 📇

From your audience research pick out up to 4 types of people (let’s call them buyer types) that would have a need for your product…

Now you’re gonna create 4 creatives per buyer type and write 1 piece of copy per creative…

This will allow you to test out the creatives of your ads as well as figure out which buyer type will perform best…

Since you’ve already researched your audiences you should have a good idea of what types of creatives and copy you can use for your ads as well as your competitors ads to get your wheels turning!

4. A Clear Strategy for a Clear Goal 💎

For your ad strategy you wanna keep it simple…

You’re gonna have one campaign per buyer type and each one will look like this:

Prospecting “Buyer Type 1” Campaign: ABO

> Adset #1: Broad

> Ads #1: Copy 1 + Creative 1

> Ads #2: Copy 2 + Creative 2

> Ads #3: Copy 3 + Creative 3

> Ads #4: Copy 4 + Creative 4

> Adset #2: Interest

 > Ads #1: Copy 1 + Creative 1

> Ads #2: Copy 2 + Creative 2

> Ads #3: Copy 3 + Creative 3

> Ads #4: Copy 4 + Creative 4

> Adset 3: Competitors

> Ads #1: Copy 1 + Creative 1

> Ads #2: Copy 2 + Creative 2

> Ads #3: Copy 3 + Creative 3

> Ads #4: Copy 4 + Creative 4

> Adset 4: Celebrities

> Ads #1: Copy 1 + Creative 1

> Ads #2: Copy 2 + Creative 2

> Ads #3: Copy 3 + Creative 3

> Ads #4: Copy 4 + Creative 4

5. To the Moon 🚀

After you’ve run those ads for 2-3 days you should know if they’re profitable or not…

If they are NOT, turn them off

And if they’re profitable, add them to a CBO campaign and include your winning ad sets

Your budget for this should be about 10x your target CPA.

And that’s how you manage a new ad account from scratch!

It’s all about making sure you know who you’re advertising to and properly testing by isolating all the variables!
