I’m currently a statistics graduate student and will be partnering with my brother who is also a statistician and economist to try and build an algorithm to identify high-margin items to sell online as a project. We have cash to get started and will be practicing with small orders before we start really gaining ground.
As we research the logistics process behind sourcing and selling items – one thing that keeps worrying us is quality control. Specifically, items mass produced in China. I’m guessing that any samples of items provided by factories are great, and then the bulk order is occasionally (or more than occasionally?) much lower quality.
Does anyone have experience or advice on how to deal with this issue? I’d love to hear your experiences.
