Is adding a Buy Now Pay Later (e.g Klarna, Afterpay) checkout option to my e-commerce store socially responsible?

Even some big socially responsible brands like Patagonia are adding it.

But I feel like you’re actively marketing a credit options as you have to stamp ‘Klarna’ all over your site, encouraging people to do something that may in the future damage their financial wellbeing.

If you compare it to someone paying by credit card – they choose to do that – without any intervention/knowledge by the retailer.
