Providing order status for customers

Hi there,

Recently I’ve been talking to my uncle who runs an e-commerce store and he is irritated on how much time it takes for him to answer email and phone calls like: “When will my product be ready?What is the status right now?”. Once packet is send clients can track it, but until then they ask him those questions.

I’m a dev and I’m curious how you guys handle it? Are there any good solutions? Is it also a problem for you?
